Resulta sorprendente como el evangelista muestra y expone los sentimientos que provoca en Jes\u00fas la contemplaci\u00f3n de la ciudad y del templo. Solo en otra ocasi\u00f3n aparece Jes\u00fas llorando en el NT y es ante la muerte de su amigo L\u00e1zaro (Jn 11,35). La diferencia est\u00e1 en que ahora el llanto es p\u00fablico y no por la p\u00e9rdida de una relaci\u00f3n personal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>La raz\u00f3n de la pena del Maestro no es su propio destino, sino el de la ciudad y sus habitantes que se han negado a reconocer lo que conduce a la paz. El mensaje que Jes\u00fas ha predicado acerca de la venida del Reino, con sus palabras, sus signos y su propia persona, no ha convertido a los vecinos de Jerusal\u00e9n que permanecen anclados en las tradiciones pasadas, esperando un Mes\u00edas que son incapaces de reconocer cuando est\u00e1 en medio de ellos,&nbsp;<em>\u00bfsabemos nosotros descubrir a Jes\u00fas presente en nuestras vidas?<\/em>&nbsp;Reconocer lo que nos lleva a la paz no es la lucidez intelectual o espiritual, lo que realmente nos conduce a la paz que trae Jes\u00fas es encontrarnos con \u00c9l.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A continuaci\u00f3n, Jes\u00fas va a predecir la destrucci\u00f3n de esa ciudad que le da la espalda, la ciudad santa, en tres momentos: comienza por Jerusal\u00e9n en la que sus enemigos construir\u00e1n barricadas; para seguir con la muerte de sus habitantes, hombres, mujeres y ni\u00f1os; y finalmente, la visi\u00f3n de una ciudad sin vida, donde todo est\u00e1 destruido, arrasado, donde no queda piedra sobre piedra.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>El or\u00e1culo da el motivo de la destrucci\u00f3n y del sufrimiento: porque no reconocisteis el tiempo de su visita.
