Este martes de Semana Santa vemos a Jes\u00fas angustiado porque sabe lo que le viene encima. Ha lavado los pies a sus disc\u00edpulos, Judas incluido; se han sentado a la mesa y la cena ha comenzado. Los disc\u00edpulos ni siquiera sospechan los acontecimientos que vienen sobre Jes\u00fas, y celebran aquel convite pascual con la alegr\u00eda propia de la gran fiesta jud\u00eda que se avecina. Se entregaron a comer y beber, como rudos pescadores galileos que eran, y seguramente, al final de la cena, estar\u00edan ligeramente achispados. Tal vez cantaban alguna canci\u00f3n tradicional festiva, adem\u00e1s de los salmos e himnos reglamentarios.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Y Jes\u00fas sigue hablando, contin\u00faa con el m\u00e1s largo y profundo de sus discursos \u00a1pero nadie le entiende! Se escuchan las bravatas de Pedro, que no sabe de qu\u00e9 est\u00e1 hablando. Cuando se enfrente a la dura realidad, calent\u00e1ndose a la hoguera, sus promesas se olvidar\u00e1n y la negaci\u00f3n saldr\u00e1 espont\u00e1nea. \u00bfEncontramos alg\u00fan parecido entre nosotros? \u00bfNos recuerda algo nuestro \u201cs\u00ed, soy cat\u00f3lico, pero no practico\u201d?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Todos somos Pedro en muchas ocasiones. Nos comemos el mundo mientras el vino y el cordero asado est\u00e1n sobre la mesa. Cantamos alegres y los problemas quedan fuera de la casa. No es que olvidemos lo que el Maestro nos dice, es que lo o\u00edmos, pero no lo escuchamos. Nos parece estar asistiendo a los discursos protocolarios de los homenajes a los que hayamos asistido, durante los que apagamos los o\u00eddos y la atenci\u00f3n, y de los que nos enteraremos a retales al leer las rese\u00f1as period\u00edsticas al d\u00eda siguiente.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Por alguna raz\u00f3n, se han suprimido del texto que leemos hoy dos vers\u00edculos, 34 y 35, que tendr\u00e1n justificaci\u00f3n para los t\u00e9cnicos liturgistas, pero que yo echo de menos, porque ese importante discurso, esa oraci\u00f3n sacerdotal de Jes\u00fas, pierde la enorme fuerza de su mandato m\u00e1s importante; un mandato que durante todo su peregrinar por la vida ha ido poniendo en valor, y que ahora, en esta solemne despedida, suenan como aldabonazos en nuestras conciencias: \u201cAmaos unos a otros como yo os he amado\u201d. Es nuestra se\u00f1a distintiva, sin la que no somos nada.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Somos, como Pedro, valientes y decididos de sal\u00f3n para seguir a Jes\u00fas mientras estamos en el banquete, pero cuando la fiesta acaba y llega el momento de dar la cara puede que escondamos la nuestra y neguemos seguir al Maestro. \u00bfSomos consecuentes con la fe que decimos profesar y seguir? \u00bfMi boca, tu boca, nuestra boca, cantar\u00e1 su salvaci\u00f3n o seremos nuevos \u201cPedros\u201d negando al Se\u00f1or?<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
