En otras palabras, una forma de entender la uni\u00f3n de la Iglesia, cuerpo de Cristo, con quien es su Cabeza. Se trata de una relaci\u00f3n vital, de una profunda compenetraci\u00f3n de la comunidad cristiana con el Se\u00f1or, que es quien la preside. La Iglesia, nuevo Israel, es una plantaci\u00f3n de Dios, en la que no basta compartir la fe de Abrah\u00e1n, sino que es necesario aceptar a Jes\u00fas como el enviado del Padre y \u201cpermanecer\u201d en esa nueva fe. S\u00f3lo entonces esa planta dar\u00e1 sus frutos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;\u201cPorque sin m\u00ed no pod\u00e9is hacer nada\u201d, dice Jes\u00fas. La Iglesia sabe que su eficacia evangelizadora, y aun su misma vida evang\u00e9lica, proviene de su uni\u00f3n con Cristo y es obra del Esp\u00edritu Santo. Sin ese enraizamiento en Cristo toda su actividad ser\u00eda, en definitiva, est\u00e9ril. Y para mantenerse en esa vitalidad espiritual y apost\u00f3lica necesita, peri\u00f3dicamente, una poda a fondo de sus ramas resecas o muertas. Esto puede ser doloroso, pero no debe debilitar nuestro empe\u00f1o por \u201cpermanecer\u201d firmemente injertados a la vid.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>De esta permanencia se derivan tambi\u00e9n dos efectos ben\u00e9ficos de enorme valor: la eficacia de nuestra oraci\u00f3n y la glorificaci\u00f3n de Dios. Si estamos \u00edntimamente unidos a Cristo, nuestras plegarias ser\u00e1n las suyas y el Padre las acoger\u00e1 con suma complacencia.
