Mt 10, 16-23<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Toda esta semana, aunque parecer\u00eda como fiestas distintas, encontramos testigos que vienen a descubrir el verdadero rostro de Jes\u00fas.  Iniciamos hoy con san Esteban, que viene a ense\u00f1arnos c\u00f3mo se vive plenamente esa presencia de Jes\u00fas en nuestro coraz\u00f3n.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jes\u00fas dice, entre otras cosas: \u00abVosotros ser\u00e9is odiados por todos a causa de mi Nombre, pero aquel que persevere hasta el fin se salvar\u00e1\u00bb.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Estas palabras del Se\u00f1or no turban la celebraci\u00f3n de la Navidad, sino que la despojan del falso revestimiento empalagoso que no le pertenece. Nos hacen comprender que en las pruebas aceptadas a causa de la fe, la violencia es derrotada por el amor, la muerte por la vida.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Para acoger verdaderamente a Jes\u00fas en nuestra existencia y prolongar la alegr\u00eda de la Nochebuena, el camino es justo el que indica este Evangelio.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Es decir, testimoniar a Jes\u00fas en la humildad<\/strong>, en el servicio silencioso, sin miedo a ir contracorriente y pagar en persona.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Y, si no todos est\u00e1n llamados, como san Esteban, a derramar su propia sangre, a todo cristiano se le pide sin embargo que sea coherente, en cada circunstancia, con la fe que profesa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Es la coherencia cristiana, es una gracia que debemos pedir al Se\u00f1or: ser coherentes, vivir como cristianos. Y no decir soy cristiano y vivir como pagano. La coherencia es una gracia que hay que pedir hoy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Seguir el Evangelio es ciertamente un camino exigente \u2013 pero \u00a1bello, bell\u00edsimo! – el que lo recorre con fidelidad y valent\u00eda recibe el don prometido por el Se\u00f1or a los hombres y a las mujeres de buena voluntad. Como cantan los \u00e1ngeles<\/strong> el d\u00eda de Navidad: \u00a1paz, paz!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Esta paz donada por Dios es capaz de apaciguar la conciencia de todos los que, a trav\u00e9s de las pruebas de la vida, saben acoger la Palabra de Dios y se comprometen en observarla con perseverancia hasta el final.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hoy, oremos, en particular, por cuantos son discriminados, perseguidos y asesinados por su testimonio de Cristo. Si llevan esta cruz con amor<\/strong>, han entrado en el misterio de la Navidad, han entrado en el coraz\u00f3n de Cristo y de la Iglesia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Recemos tambi\u00e9n para que, gracias al sacrificio de estos m\u00e1rtires de hoy \u2013 son tantos, tant\u00edsimos – se fortalezca en todo el mundo el compromiso para reconocer y asegurar concretamente la libertad religiosa, que es un derecho inalienable de toda persona humana.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Que san Esteban, di\u00e1cono y protom\u00e1rtir, nos sostenga en nuestro camino cotidiano, que esperamos coronar, al final, en la fiesta alegre de la asamblea de los santos en el Para\u00edso.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
